Missionary Volunteer Program

UrbanPromise Dominican Republic’s Missionary Volunteer Program provides college-aged adults with year-round or summertime training in youth development and cross cultural ministry. Missionary Volunteers work in our after-school and summer camps and live 15 minutes from the community in which they work. They work on a volunteer basis and act as positive role models to the children and teens in their camps.

Their role is also one of a learner and one that supports local leadership. Missionary Volunteers will work alongside the Director in the development of curriculum, planning activities, buying supplies and then running the operations at camp. Along with your work in the after-school program you will have many opportunities to continue building relationships with children, youth and their families. Examples might include having dinner with families, youth nights, or special field trips with the children.
